Kurt Leimer/Richard Strauss: piano concerts left-hand
40 years after the world premiere recording by the composer himself, Gilles Vonsattel presents the highly virtuoso concerto left-hand by Kurt Leimer in a new studio production. He is also the soloist in Strauss’ Panathenäenzug op. 74, a rarity composed in 1927 for Paul Wittgenstein, and, again, an explosive mixture between incredible virtuosity and an exciting research of the possibilities for a solo part with one hand only. Mario Venzago conducts the Berner Symphonieorchester.
